Help Please - Claude Opus Crazy Slow In Terminal

I use Cursor almost non-stop with Claude Opus as my preferred model of choice, and I sort of feel like maybe I'm missing out by not using the terminal instead. So I switched over yesterday to running Claude code in the terminal, and for some reason, it's insanely slow. I can't understand why it would be so slow. My current experience is that Claude Opus as the model in Cursor runs way faster than running Claude Opus in the terminal on my computer. I'm wondering if anybody has tips or experiences that could help me with this. Thank you so much!
